Prescott-Linda Jee loves the schedule flexibility her cleaning woman gives her.
Jee said it allows her to cook, spend time with her family and persue hobbies. “It
just freed up my time so much to do the things I want to do.” she said.

Homeowners like Jee turn to cleaning companies to keep their homes sparkling and
help them get to tasks they would otherwise miss. “It really helps to know you can
call somebody to get over the hump.” she said.

Teasha Martin, area coordinator for Busy Bee Home Services, cleans up to 10 homes
a week. Martin cleans everything under the roof including windows, dishes and laundry. Martin said that business picks up around the end of tax season. “People think that they don't have the money and then they see the work that we do and they want to keep going and they make cuts elsewhere,”she said.

Business owner Victoria Johnson said people call each spring for help cleaning their messes. Johnson said that people get the urge to spruce up their home. “Once it
perks up and the sun starts shining people see the need to clean” she said.
“The sunlight shows all the dust that has accumulated over the winter.”

Jean Hella, co-owner of Merry Maids in Prescott said that some people look for household chores that are difficult. Hella said that some people are unable to get
down and clean the baseboards or safely reach the cobwebs dangling from the ceiling. “It's just overwhelming to a lot of people, she said. They know it needs attention, but they don't know exactly how to do it or where to start.”

Tracy Morgan, owner of Bradshaw Cleaning Service, said organization is key for homeowners. “It makes it easier when your house is organized and you clean it”, she said. “A bunch of stuff makes a lot of clutter, which makes a big mess.”

Like other professional cleaning businesses, Morgan meets with homeowners to find
out how they want things done and what products to use. “ That way I know what they want and I know where they want it, and it just makes them happy,” she said.

Deborah Holland, owner of Mile High House Cleaning in Prescott, said homeowners
want areas under furniture and other tight spaces cleaned. “People like their houses cleaned to hit the hard spots they can't get to, places that they don't normally clean,” she said.
