Attention to detail sets cleaning company apart

Q & A with Victoria Johnson
owner and manager of Busy
Bee Home Services in Prescott

Phone: 708-9233

What is the service you provide in the community?
"We specialize in detailed residential cleaning. We are also licensed to do other types of cleaning. We're licensed and bonded and insured. When we go into the client's home for
the first time, the worker completes a detailed questionnaire regarding precisely what the client wants."

How many employees do you have?
"We have five to seven workers at any given time. I do say workers because they are independent contractors. I always say I'm the heart of the business and they are the backbone."

How is your cleaning service different than similar businesses?
"The competition goes in as a team. They have set things that they do. We come in and ask the client specifically what they want done on this particular job and that is going to vary from client to client. We do whatever the client needs done."

How did you get into the cleaning business?
"I started the business by doing it myself and then hiring other people. I first had the idea in 1985 and I worked on and off as an individual in intervals over the next 20 years. In 2005, my husband was injured and out of work. I decided it was time to start Busy Bee as the business that I had envisioned 20 years before."

What is the key to business success?
"Personalized service."

What is your biggest business challenge?
"Finding dependable workers, someone who is reliable and dependable. Someone who loves what they do and wants to stick with it."

Do you do windows?
"We do whatever the client needs. We help make beds, we do whatever is necessary."

Where do you get cleaning supplies?
"We can use the client's supply or use our own because we'd rather be to prepared than not enough."

Do you work with an local charities?
"We support Stepping Stones Agencies and we try too hire people from there whenever possible."
